In the 1950s, the organizers of a tango ball forget in the ballroom the teddy bear of their daughter who needs to go to bed.
Later that evening the girl, shy but courageous, gets up to look for her teddy among the dancers who are twirling around. Frightened by this adult world she finally gives up.
Years later, the girl has become an old, embittered grandmother, still frightened by the world around. When she happens to see her old teddy in a flea market stand, she suddenly feels able to change her world view. She finds the little girl she used to be and returns the lost teddy bear to her.
