Horizon

Horizon (original title)

Nathanael Wheatcroft-Brown (author)

The film explores the fears of infinity and the existential philosophies of life after death. Through methods of escape from time, the protagonist hides from truth in a phantasmagorical world, only for her to be trapped in a limbo between fear and fantasy. The hope is that she can break free from her oppressive mindset, however she has not yet accepted that the horizon is endless. The sky will still exist after she passes; the tide will always beckon the future forward. I made this film because existentialism affects many young hearts, including myself. Although the ending can be perceived as bleak, the film explores the fear of death in a realistic sense in that concepts are chaotic and juxtaposing. As we get older, however, we may learn to embrace what we once feared.
